Getting to the Core
These are the specific core values that help to define our unique community in this city, at this time. These values are drawn from the Luke-Acts continuum.
We aspire to be a church that is:
…missional in essence | centered on Jesus' mission to bring good news to the poor in spirit, soul, and body; determined to engage our city and the world through the word of reconciliation and the deed of justice and compassion (Lu. 4:42 f.).
…spiritual in formation | brought together by the new-creation work of the Spirit; determined to live by the ongoing ministry of the Spirit, with his gifts (Lu. 3:15 ff.; Acts 2).
…incarnational in community | focused on relationship as the true context for faith; determined to dwell together as the body of Christ for the sake of the world (Acts 2:42 ff.).
…biblical in belief | firmly committed to the infallible authority of the Scriptures, all 66 books, according to solid evangelical confession; determined to uphold the beauty of God's truth and the truth of God's beauty (Lu. 24:25 ff.; Acts 17:10 f.).
…multiplying by nature | dedicated to the importance of small communities in a gathered/scattered model; determined to raise up disciples and leaders for new missional communities (Acts 13:1 ff.; 14:20 ff.).
…grace-centric in focus | in love with Jesus and his gospel of grace that breaks down every wall; determined to push past the boundaries of religion in order to love our neighbors with the love of Jesus (Lu. 23; Lu. 15; Acts 10; Acts 15).
...worshiping in everything | convinced that everything begins and ends with us making much of the Lord Jesus Christ in all his glorious supremacy; determined to make life a "worship song" for our exalted King (Lu. 1:67 ff.; Lu. 24:50 ff.).
